The “You Can Do It” – The Ride For Epilepsy is BACK on JUNE 7th, 2025

April 4, 2025

The “You Can Do It” – the ride for epilepsy began in 2023 because of Daniel and his Dad having a vision to bring awareness to the disease called Epilepsy.

Daniel was a normally developing 3-year-old boy. In 2016, a few days after his third birthday party he had a tonic-clonic seizure. After 3 months of the diagnosis, Daniel was having dozens of seizures a day, multiple falls, and trauma to the face. After 6 months, Daniel was in 5 simultaneous antiepileptics, some of which were given in doses far higher than the recommended. His medical team was also struggling to control his explosive epilepsy.

In 2017, Daniel was having so many seizures that we started counting seizures per minute up to one seizure every 20 seconds. He was taken to SickKids Hospital, where he was admitted and stayed in the hospital for 10 days. A few days after starting on the ketogenic diet, the seizures were completely controlled.

Daniel continues on the journey of healing, and is now seizure-free for 7 years and without medications. Daniel now enjoys cycling, running, and swimming and has already started participating in some bike rides and triathlons with his father and number one supporter.
