Chris came to then Epilepsy Halton Peel Hamilton as a Sunny Days Counsellor way back in 2015 and was a huge successful role model for the kids. They loved Chris and we loved Chris and his intense connection to the campers and Sunny Days Camp.
Three years later, in October 2018 he joined the Board of Directors of Epilepsy South Central Ontario and continued his connection to Epilepsy. On the Board, he further provided a lot of inciteful ideas, agency support and worked as an amazing team player.
Flash forward to December 2018, the board moved him to the role of Treasurer. In October of 2023 Chris took on the added role of Board President and helped to steer the ship during the aftermath of Covid-19 so that we can continue to provide services and programs to our clients and their families.
It is because of Chris’ unwavering leadership that he has demonstrated his support and dedication to the staff, our clients and their families, and the board of directors that we honour him with the 2025 H.O.P.E. Award.
The H.O.P.E. Award stands for ‘Helping Out People with Epilepsy’
The H.O.P.E. Award is presented to an individual or group who has made an outstanding contribution to improving the quality of life for people living with epilepsy in our community.
