TELUS Friendly Future Foundation Donates $20,000.00 to Epilepsy South Central Ontario for a Children and Youth Summer Empowerment Experience

Funding will help empower children and youth with epilepsy who feel isolated and face depression and anxiety. With about 60 participants, over 200 people will be positively impacted by the program

Mississauga, Ontario, June 29, 2022  – TELUS Friendly Future Foundation® has donated $20,000.00 to contribute towards Epilepsy South Central Ontario’s Children and Youth Summer Empowerment Experience which is dedicated to support children and youth with epilepsy through summer camp experiences and leadership opportunities they may otherwise be denied.

“We are addressing children and youth with epilepsy who often face depression and anxiety, living an isolated life preventing them from achieving their full potential, often unemployed or underemployed, relying on disability and other assistance. By providing them with confidence building programs and activities, we aim to improve their overall success in life” says Cynthia Milburn, CEO of the Charity

This amount will contribute to, which will allow Epilepsy South Central Ontario to impact at least 200 people throughout the length of the program and beyond. 

“We’ve heard from our charity partners about the challenges children and youth with epilepsy face every day,” says Shanan Spencer-Brown, Executive Director of TELUS Friendly Future Foundation. “We are honoured to be able to support Epilepsy South Central Ontario with a donation of $20,000 from the TELUS Greater Toronto Area Community Board. We are so appreciative of the work Epilepsy South Central Ontario is doing to help empower children and youth with epilepsy in their community.”
