Thank you for your support! Your fundraising efforts make a real difference for people living with epilepsy.
To help you succeed and avoid any issues, please review these key guidelines before planning your event. If you have questions, contact our Resource Development Coordinator.
What You Need to Know
All fundraising activities must be legal, ethical, and align with our values.
Prohibited activities include commission-based fundraising, political endorsements, and direct solicitation (like door-to-door or telemarketing).
You must submit a Community Partnership Events Agreement and get approval before proceeding.
We can provide program materials and, if possible, a staff member or volunteer to attend your event (at no cost to you). Let us know early if you’d like us there!
Sponsorship requests must be approved in advance to avoid overlaps.
All event materials using our name or logo need prior approval.
Your event must follow all applicable government rules and regulations.
Depending on your event’s size, you may need to provide insurance certificates.
Event expenses should be covered by the event itself—not by donations to Epilepsy South Central Ontario.
Clearly communicate how proceeds will be allocated (all or part) to comply with Canada Revenue Agency guidelines.
Please submit all funds raised to us within 30 days after your event.
Epilepsy South Central Ontario does not assume any legal, financial, or managerial responsibility for your event.
We cannot provide mailing lists, cover event costs, sell tickets, solicit sponsors, or support gaming/liquor licenses.
We’re here to support you! Reach out with any questions so your event can be a great success.
